SCGJWD Announce Merger

Becoming ASEAN’s Largest Integrated Logistics and Supply Chain Service Provider

SCG Logisitcs Management Company Limited (“SCGL”) and JWD InfoLogistics Public Company Limited (“JWD”), the two leading logistics and supply chain service providers at the ASEAN level together announced a crucial merger deal to form a “partnership” under the name “SCG JWD Logistics Public Company Limited (SCGJWD)” in a move to combine strength and increase the service level capability to become the largest “Integrated Logistics and Supply Chains Solutions Provider” in the ASEAN region with a wide variety of integrated services to cover all industrial groups to increase the opportunities for exponential growth derived from the customer bases of the two companies, while drawing up a strategy to expand the businesses in the ASEAN region.

Upon completion of the merger transaction, JWD will change its name to SCG JWD Logistics Public Company Limited with the SET-registered abbreviation of SJWD for share trading in the Stock Exchange of Thailand, The new Company will be managed jointly by Co-Chief Executive Officers (Co-CEOs) – Mr. Bunn Kasemsup, representing SCGL, and Mr. Charvanin Bunditkitsada, representing JWD. SCGJWD will proceed with the internal restructuring after the merger, when SCGJWD will accept the entire business transfers (EBT) of SCGL. This process is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2023.

This merger combines the individual strengths of the two companies perfectly. These include JWD’s expertise in specialized products such as temperature-controlled goods, hazardous goods and automotive, etc., while SCG is the expert in industrial products such as steel & construction materials, paper & packaging, and consumer products, etc. This synergy will help to increase the capability to provide logistics services from upstream to downstream along with a large variety of service models covering warehousing, supply chain and multimodal logistics, as well as the opportunity to create more synergy in the future. Moreover, the customer bases of both parties do not overlap significantly, thus growth from expanded customer base of both parties and the acquisition of a large customer base from within the SCG group will help to maintain growth and effectively reduce business volatility.

Evaluators from WHO Visit JWD Dangerous Goods Yard at Laem Chabang Port

On October 31, 2022, Dangerous Goods Department and Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Department participated in the IHR Joint External Evaluation Round 2/2022 led by Dr. Rajesh Sreedharan, World Health Organization (WHO). The WHO evaluators visited JWD Dangerous Goods yard and Mr. Pawat Mongkoldechachot, DG Operation Manager gave a warm welcome and was a speaker on the topic “DG management & storage”.

On October 28, 2022, JWD has been awarded the Thailand Sustainability Investment Awards for the 5th Consecutive Year plus the Commended Sustainability Awards for this year which reinforce the company progress and potential in enhancing the outstanding sustainability performance. The Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Department Arranges the 2022 Training Session for the Dangerous Goods Transportation in the Laem Chabang Port

On October 19, 2022, the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Department arranged 2022 online training session for the dangerous goods transportation in the Laem Chabang Port which the participants were from both government and private sectors who involved in the dangerous goods transportation. The training session was to spread knowledge and understanding towards the dangerous goods in accordance with the regulations of the Port Authority of Thailand on the practices regarding dangerous goods of Laem Chabang Port.

Bok Seng PPSEZ Dry Port, one of JWD Group Company in Cambodia, Received the National Environment Award.

On October 17, 2022, one of JWD Group company, Bok Seng PPSEZ Dry Port from Cambodia, led by Mr.Jaws Tamilarasan, Country Director was a representative to accept the National Environment award from the Ministry of Environment, Cambodia. Bok Seng PPSEZ Dry Port was the first logistics company in Cambodia to win this award.

The Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Department Organizes 2022 Online Training in the Management of Chemicals and Hazardous Materials in the Warehouse

On October 12, 2022, the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Department organized 2022 online training in the Management of Chemicals and Hazardous Materials in the Warehouse. The participants were executives, and warehouse staff or employees responsible for handling chemicals, hazardous materials and goods. The training aims to develop cognitive skills in the classification, chemicals and dangerous goods yard management, and how to select the appropriate protective equipment, including the risk of chemical and hazardous material accidents that may occur in the warehouse.

On October 7, 2022, JWD Dangerous Goods Warehouse and the Department of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment welcomed the delegates from France and Thailand Marine Department for a study visit on the dangerous goods management, guidance, and standards to promote the safety of the dangerous goods transportation by sea, and as guidelines for preparing a management plan to prevent and deal with the dangerous goods accidents that can be occurred, and for the safety of both transportation by land and sea.
